Our activities
The work of the Societat Unió Musical Santa Cecília de Barx runs throughout the year, divided between concerts, the village festivities and the life of the music school.
Concerts
- Santa Cecília concert in November, the central event of the year, when new students join the band and the anthem La Societat is performed.
- Christmas concert, with seasonal repertoire.
- Village festivity concerts and participation in festivals and band competitions.
Festivities
The band accompanies the most important events in the local calendar, above all the summer Moors and Christians celebrations, and also performs at festivities in other towns that invite us.
Campaigns and exchanges
The society takes part regularly in the “Retrobem la Nostra Música” campaigns and in musical exchange programmes, which take the band to towns across the Valencian Community and the rest of Spain, and bring other ensembles to Barx.
Music school activity
Throughout the school year, students of the Music School take part in recitals and in performances by the Banda Jove, the step before joining the senior band.
